Comments:
This comes from my personal collection which is now the Matchbox 20 Recording Database. Originally I picked this out and shared online back in 2012 with everyone else since it is one of the top 5 recordings for ’97. Since then I have re-encoded this directly from the original wave file and now tagged all files. Essentially this is no different than what was shared in 2012 other than the tagging and for consistency for my collection.
This rare tape was given to me from an retired collector which was transferred by me. The show comes from a fairly low gen tape as the hiss is quite minimal which is fortunate because the sound quality is pretty good. It just barely reaches and EX- rating (more like a B+ or VG+) but considering the age of the tape, I think its worth it. Although it is an audience recording and there’s some crowd noise (mostly screaming girls) but mainly between songs. The sound comes off a bit “compressed” but overall everything is clear and loud. Certainly worth having in the collection, unfortunately the last song is cut (seems to be a common issue with these 97 shows) and only about one minutes worth is there before its over.
