Comments:
This was another master tape recieved from the taper but like the last, this too suffered from speed and channel issues. The original tape ran too fast but this time it seemed to be constant through out. So normal pitch control was used on this one. The channel issues are more on the second tape which can be heard in the first song where Mad Season really suffers like tape damage but thats not the case. I believe the recorder was the problem which caused more hiss than higher levels. It still sounds distant and muddled for most of it especially during the crowd noise as it can be hard to make out at times. There is also some microphone disturbances that seem like bumping is going on but not sure so not a whole lot can be done with that. Overall a rare tape but lacks in clarity and would not be my first pic from the tour.
Included is a scan of the taper’s ticket stub.
IMPORTANT:
Please do not sell or use for profit. Trade freely and enjoy. Please do not alter or change any of the files. Leave it in its current format.
DO NOT ENCODE to any lossy format unless for personal use or you may bring the worst voodoo curse upon yourself that will leave you crying and shitting in your pants for years until you die!
Any original SHN files where checked for SBE errors and encoded to FLAC via TLH then tagged as needed. Other issues like micro gaps, level issues, fade outs, etc. were corrected in order to make each recording as seamless and enjoyable as possible while still trying to preserve the original integrity of the recording itself. Nothing was EQ’d unless absolutely necessary and would be noted where applicable.
This was done as part of the MB20 live database preservation project. It has been the goal to preserve and archive any unofficial live recordings of the band primarily from 1996-2003 in lossless format from the best known sources. Please help keep it that way.
